Eight weeks 'til we board our flight to Paris with a couple of hours stop-over in Hong Kong on the way.
The first job for this month is to get some regular payments usually taken from wages (which we won't be receiving, shame about that but I guess Leave without Pay, means Leave WITHOUT Pay) sorted so that they are paid in alternate ways. Not sure how yet but after some phone calls I should be better informed.
Accommodation in Paris for three nights now booked & paid for, at least we won't be sleeping on the streets. We have a room in a Guest House which sounds rather nice & is very centrally located. I found this budget accommodation on a website www.airbnb.com and if all goes smoothly I will use them again as the prices are very good.
Shore excursions in Norway as part of our fjord cruise are booked & paid for, Grant is very excited about his inflatable rubber boat excursion through the area with the world's largest tidal changes, me I thought a bus trip round the countryside was more my style that day. We have a city walk in Trondheim, a Geiranger Fjord scenic tour, and a trip to North Cape organised as well. This is really going to be a once in a lifetime part of our year, I think!
Am going to put in our first Couch Surfing requests this week. When we get to the UK & have our hire car (must see about that too, remind me later!) we will be touring the southern part of England for this 12 day visit (just the first time as we will have to come back later to get out of the Schengen states as part of the visa issues).
